EYT Partners With Equinix to Offer Its First Hosted Financial Application

EYT Leverages Critical Mass of Leading Internet Companies at Equinix IBX(TM)

Centers to Offer GoFinancials(TM)

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), creator and operator of the only neutral Internet Business ExchangeTM (IBXTM) centers, and EYT, formerly Ernst & Young Technologies, have announced an agreement under which EYT will host its financial ASP offering, GoFinancials(TM), in Equinix IBX centers. As part of the agreement, EYT will outsource this and other ASP and hosted applications in IBX centers in the greater Washington, D.C. and Silicon Valley areas.

By locating within the neutral environment of Equinix IBX centers, EYT leverages the concentration of best in breed Internet service providers, network providers and site and performance management companies all under one roof. Through direct interconnections to their business partners within IBX centers, EYT brings GoFinancials content even closer to end users by eliminating the multiple transfer points -- and points of potential failure -- of connecting over the Internet. The result is a faster, richer and more reliable delivery of this hosted application.

GoFinancials empowers the customer with the ability to automate all financial functions over the Internet, including general ledger upkeep, invoice generation, bill payment and bank transaction recording. In addition, GoFinancials offers the customer a rapid time-to-market financial application solution to meet their immediate business needs without requiring an implementation and IT staff. Also, GoFinancials presents the customer with increased certainty of implementation, lower start up costs, reduced IT staffing costs, and 24x7 application access and support.

"Equinix has assembled a very compelling mix of leading Internet companies in a neutral environment that serves as an open marketplace for companies to do business with each other," said Brad Osborne, vice-president of solutions development for EYT. "By bringing our operations into the IBX community, we are only a wire cross-connect away from our critical Internet business partners. This results in the fastest and most reliable delivery to the start-up companies who utilize our ASP services."

"With the projected growth of the hosted application market, application service providers like EYT, are finding Equinix IBX centers an ideal solution to optimize the delivery of their services to customers," said Peter Van Camp, CEO of Equinix. "Within an IBX center, ASPs can choose from the widest selection of carriers, ISPs and site and performance management companies all in a unique, open marketplace. This eliminates the multiple transfer points and unreliability of connecting two Internet companies who have their equipment in different locations."

Equinix IBX centers provide a secure home for the Internet where content providers, ASPs and e-commerce companies have the ability to interconnect with a choice of best-in-class carriers, ISPs, and site and performance management companies. Content providers and e-commerce companies can deliver content faster, access multiple networks, eliminate local loop charges, increase transaction-based revenues and increase customer satisfaction via a higher quality customer web experience. Carriers, ISPs, and site and performance management companies can service a larger customer base, save on training and staffing operations, and increase revenue.

Equinix's IBX centers provide improved levels of operational efficiency and reliability. Equinix customers locate their mission-critical hardware in these centers because they have access to a unique combination of global partners and customers, services and security designed to reduce Internet operations costs and increase revenues. Security features include 24x7 guards, biometric hand-geometry scanners on all doors and cages, disaster protection and tightly controlled customer access. In addition, Equinix's trained Internet/telco-savvy staff is available on-site 24-hours a day, seven days a week to optimize customer uptime.
